Most people buy essential oils without knowing how to read a label, how much to dilute, or why a blend smells flat after an hour. This 6-hour live masterclass covers the chemistry, safety, and blending technique behind aromatherapy, so you can make informed choices and build blends with intention.

Taught live on Zoom by Briana Latrise Kamara, founder of House of BLK Apothecary. Maximum 6 students per session, so you can ask questions and get feedback on your blends.

What you'll learn

• Where essential oils come from: The history of aromatic plants, the extraction methods (steam distillation, cold-pressing, solvent, CO2, enfleurage), and what hydrosols are.
• What makes them work: Terpenes, volatility, and the pathway from scent to the brain's emotion and memory centers.
• How to buy quality oils: Why "therapeutic grade" is a marketing term. How to read Latin names, chemotypes, and GC-MS reports, and how to tell true lavender from spike lavender.
• How to use them safely: Dilution by age and use case, patch testing, carrier oil selection, and cautions for pregnancy, children, and pre-existing conditions.
• Energetic correspondences: Traditional chakra associations for oils, and the chemistry that underlies some of them.
• How to blend: The top, middle, and base note structure, the 30/50/20 method, order of addition, and resting time. You'll build your own blend with a guided worksheet.
• Recipes to take home: Roller perfumes, bath salts, sugar and salt scrubs, castile soap, and an all-purpose cleaner.
